My name is Sakthivel. I am 22 years old and hail from Arakkonam. I completed my 12th standard and came to know about the Career Connect Programme at ARUWYE through one of its associates. I joined the programme with the aim of improving myself, building my confidence and securing a good job.
Before joining the programme, I was comfortable talking to people individually. However, whenever I had to introduce myself or speak in front of a group, I would stammer and lose confidence. As a result, I often avoided speaking in class and felt hesitant to participate in activities.
During the programme, I was encouraged to actively participate in group discussions, role plays, classroom activities and presentations. Initially, I felt nervous, but the continuous support and encouragement from my facilitators helped me become more comfortable speaking in front of others. Through regular practice and active participation, I gradually began to overcome my fear and develop greater confidence.
Today, I can stand in front of the entire class, answer questions and participate in discussions without hesitation. Although I still stammer occasionally, it no longer prevents me from expressing myself. I feel that I have improved by around 90% and have gained the confidence to share my thoughts and ideas in front of a group.
The Career Connect Programme has helped me believe in myself and develop the confidence and workplace skills needed to advance my career. With the support and guidance received through the programme, I am happy to share that I have successfully secured employment as an Accountant at WEAVA Construction Pvt. Ltd. with a monthly salary of ₹17,500.
This achievement has strengthened my belief in my abilities and motivated me to work towards a better future. I am grateful to ARUWYE and the Career Connect Programme for supporting my journey towards employment and personal growth.
