I am Sneha, born and raised in Michaelpuram, a small yet vibrant village where I spent my childhood under the loving care of my parents, Joseph Sundarraj and Sahaya Mary. Growing up, I was always eager to learn and achieve something meaningful in life. I completed my schooling in Michaelpuram and later pursued my college education at Don Bosco College. While studying, I dreamed of becoming independent and contributing to my family.
After completing my college education, I did certificate course in Chennai, in cosmetology, hoping to build a career in the beauty industry. However, despite my education and efforts, I found myself staying at home for a few months, uncertain about my next steps. It was during this time that the sisters at Michaelpuram advised me to explore a new skill—tailoring. Following their guidance, I joined Auxilium, where I learned tailoring and handicrafts.
This decision transformed my life. I not only mastered the art of stitching but also developed the confidence to start my own small business. I learnt purchasing fabrics from different sources, stitching clothes, and crafting beautiful handmade items. Soon, I started receiving orders from people in my village, and my work became a source of financial independence for me. What started as a simple learning experience turned into a successful journey of self-reliance.
Today, I stand as an inspiration to the young women in my village. I have shown that with determination and the right support, anyone can carve out a path for themselves. Through my tailoring and handicraft business, I am not just supporting my own financial needs but also encouraging other women to take up skills and work towards their own independence.
I am forever grateful to the sisters who guided me and helped me learn this art. Their encouragement gave me the courage to step forward and create a better future for myself. My journey proves that no matter where we come from, with passion and perseverance, we can achieve success and become an inspiration for others
