NDF Annual Visit to the Chennai Zone Centers

The NDF visit to the Chennai Zone centers, conducted on 9th and 10th March 2026 by Mr. Sougata, ANCP Program Manager from Kolkata, focused on reviewing the implementation of the Children’s Parliament program. During the visit, meetings were held with the Director, Project Manager, facilitators, and coordinators to assess program progress and discuss key challenges. Major concerns identified included language barriers due to English-based content, limited access to secure online resources, insufficient learning materials, and the lack of essential digital devices such as laptops or tablets for effective session delivery. Documentation verification was also carried out, covering children and teacher profiles, reports, and safeguarding records, all of which were found to be well-maintained and appreciated.

Additionally, Mr. Sougata visited multiple study centers and interacted directly with children, evaluating their understanding of roles within the Children’s Parliament while motivating them to pursue their ambitions. A Chennai Zone Teachers Meeting was also conducted, where educators shared practical challenges and proposed constructive suggestions to enhance program effectiveness. Key recommendations included introducing completion certificates and badges for student recognition, organizing exposure visits, encouraging civic engagement through petitions, clarifying election processes, and providing syllabus-based demo videos for better facilitation. These insights and suggestions are expected to significantly strengthen program delivery and foster improved participation, leadership, and learning outcomes among children.
