My name is Jeyanthi. I am a mother of two children and a proud member of the Nila Self-Help Group. Life was very hard before I joined Anal Pengal Munnetra Sangam ( Through ARUWYE) . I did not know many things that could help me and my family. I was always worried about how to take care of my children and manage our household expenses. But after joining this society, my life changed in many ways.
This society is like my family. It may be small, but it has given me a lot of support. Before, I never had the confidence to step out of my house or talk to others. I was scared to do anything new. But after joining, I started taking part in all the programs they conducted. Through workshops and training, I gained confidence and learned to believe in myself. I understood that I am not alone, and many women like me are facing the same struggles.
One of the biggest challenges in my life was managing my family’s financial problems. There were days when I did not know how to provide for my children. But the confidence I got from this society helped me face these struggles. I realized that I could do something to earn money and support my family.
I also started working with other women. I motivated them and told them not to lose hope. We shared our experiences and encouraged each other to learn new skills. Through this society, I learned tailoring, sewing, and basket-making. These skills helped me earn money and take care of my family. Slowly, our financial problems became less, and I felt happy and proud. I no longer had to depend on anyone else. I was able to stand on my own feet.
Now, I work as a staff member in this society. I help women and children in my community, just like I was helped before. Every day, I see women coming in with the same fears and worries that I once had. I understand their pain, and I do my best to support them. I teach them the skills I learned, and I share my story to give them hope. Seeing them grow and become independent makes me very happy.
I thank ARUWYE from my heart. They helped me when I felt lost and unworthy. They gave me the support I needed to change my life. Today, I stand strong because of their encouragement. I believe in myself, and I want to help other women believe in themselves too.
My story shows that when we get the right support and never give up, we can change our lives for the better. I want every woman to know that no matter how hard life is, there is always a way forward. We just need to believe in ourselves and take that first step.
