On 10 September 2026, ARUWYE organised an educational visit to SNEHA Organisation to commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day. The visit provided our Women and Youth Group with valuable insights into suicide prevention and emotional well-being. The session focused on recognising warning signs and changes in a person’s behaviour and state of mind, understanding the emotional challenges experienced during a crisis and identifying ways to support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants learned the importance of responding with empathy, compassion and understanding, while also gaining practical guidance on stress management, coping with difficult emotions, self-care, active listening and timely intervention. The role of SNEHA in suicide prevention and support services was also highlighted. Every conversation, act of listening and moment of support can create hope. Together, we can build a caring community where everyone feels heard, supported and valued, contributing to suicide prevention and emotional well-being.
