My name is Viji (name changed), and I am a person with a disability. I am married to a visually impaired person, and together, we have two daughters. Our journey has been filled with hardships, particularly financial instability, making it extremely difficult for us to provide for our family and afford our children’s education.
Before coming to Auxilium, I had no income and struggled to manage our household expenses. Despite being skilled in tailoring, I was unable to find a stable job. My husband earns a modest income by selling forms in front of the Collector’s office, but it was not enough to sustain our family. We had no one to turn to for support, and every day was a struggle to make ends meet.
During this challenging time, we learned about the Auxilium Centre in Vellore and sought their help. With their generous support, our elder daughter was able to enroll in a boarding school, ensuring she received a quality education and a brighter future. Meanwhile, our younger child continues to stay with us.
Auxilium not only helped with our daughter’s education but also provided me with an opportunity to work in their tailoring unit. This job has given me financial independence, stability, and the ability to contribute to my family’s well-being. Over time, I have upgraded my skills and started assisting in making jute bags, further enhancing my expertise.
Auxilium Aruwye has become more than just an organization for me—it is my family. Before, I had no one to turn to for advice, support, or encouragement. Now, I have a community that listens to me, understands my struggles, and empowers me to move forward.
With their guidance, I have found hope, strength, and a new path to success. I am deeply grateful for their kindness and support, which has transformed my life and given me the confidence to build a better future for my children.
