On 31st July 2026, the Salesian Sisters Society organized an Online Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse and Human Trafficking for students, youth, women, teachers and community members from ARUWYE’s nine project districts. The programme commenced with a prayer and welcome address by Sr. Mary Josephine Isabella, Director of ARUWYE, followed by an informative session by Sr. Dhanam from Goa, who explained the causes, forms, warning signs, and preventive measures related to human trafficking and highlighted the harmful impact of drug abuse on individuals and society. A thought-provoking short film on human trafficking further enhanced participants’ understanding of the risks faced by vulnerable children and young people. The interactive session encouraged participants to remain vigilant, protect vulnerable individuals, and report suspicious activities within their communities. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Kamala, Women Coordinator, ARUWYE, followed by the closing prayer by Sr. Mary Josephine Isabella. Overall, the session strengthened participants’ awareness, promoted community responsibility, and reaffirmed ARUWYE’s commitment to preventing drug abuse and human trafficking through education and collective action.
