Key Areas of Development

1. Children’s Rights and Education

  • 2022-2023: Efforts were centered on establishing Neighbourhood Children Parliaments and conducting training on Child Protection Policies. A specific survey was also conducted regarding the impact of COVID-19 on girl children.
  • 2023-2024: The focus shifted to broader holistic development, including health, mental well-being, and participation. The organization significantly expanded its educational footprint, reaching 1,280 children through its network of study centers. +2

2. Women’s Empowerment and Entrepreneurship

  • 2022-2023: The organization provided vocational training in traditional skills like fabric designing, tailoring, and Aari work. It also focused on addressing Gender-Based Violence through training and rallies.
  • 2023-2024: While continuing traditional training, ARUWYE modernized its approach by introducing Digital Marketing Programs for entrepreneurs and Media Education. The number of women actively contributing to their communities grew to over 2,031. +2

3. Youth and Employability

  • In the most recent year, ARUWYE achieved a remarkable 82.7% success rate in job placement, with 110 out of 133 students entering the workforce for the first time. This was supported by specialized programs like CUET (Common University Entrance Test) coaching and career guidance drives held in May 2023 and March 2024. +1

4. Environmental Stewardship

ARUWYE has maintained a consistent focus on ecology. In 2022-2023, it released a book titled “Eyarkaiyai Thediya Payanam” (Nature) , and by 2023-2024, it integrated Environmental Policy Education and Green Skilling Jobs into its core pillars. +2

By the end of the 2023-2024 period, ARUWYE reached a total of 40,500 people, marking its transition into a highly efficient, multi-district force for social change in Tamil Nadu.

Industry Exposure Visit to Decathlon

On 5 July 2025, QUEST students visited Decathlon, Teynampet for an Industry Exposure Visit aimed at understanding real-world retail operations. Students explored the company’s history, organizational structure, and departmental responsibilities.

The session emphasized essential workplace skills such as teamwork, customer service, and inventory management, helping students connect classroom knowledge with real-world professional experiences.


Eco-Friendly Initiatives for Child Leaders and Teachers

In July, ARUWYE organized an environmental awareness session to promote tree plantation and sustainability practices.

Mr. Indirajith from Exnora served as the guest speaker, inspiring participants to understand the importance of greenery, climate change challenges, and practices such as rainwater harvesting. As a result, Eco Club Leaders were nominated in each centre to lead initiatives like tree care, water conservation, and maintaining cleanliness in their communities.


Social Justice Day for Women

On 24 July, ARUWYE observed Social Justice Day in Kodambakkam with a special program for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The session focused on women’s rights and justice both at home and in the workplace.

The initiative empowered women with awareness and knowledge to protect their dignity, ensure equality, and promote social justice in their daily lives.


Monitoring Visits to Salem and Erode

On 21 and 22 July, ARUWYE Director Sr. Isabella and Project Manager Ms. Jyothi Priya conducted monitoring visits to the Evening Study Centres in Salem and Erode.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure smooth class operations, interact with students to understand their learning experiences, and identify challenges faced by teachers. Feedback was also collected to provide necessary support for improving the centres.


Water Conservation and Recycling Programme

On 8 July 2025, ARUWYE conducted a Water Conservation and Recycling Training Programme at the Evening Study Centre. The session educated children and youth about sustainable water practices and encouraged community participation.

A tree plantation activity highlighted the connection between greenery, water preservation, and climate protection, inspiring young participants to adopt eco-friendly habits.


Children Ambassador Group Formation – Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness

On 8 and 9 July, ARUWYE organized an Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness Programme where a Children Ambassadors Group of 32 students was formed. The group included 15 committee members and active volunteers.

The session educated students about the forms, causes, warning signs, and reporting methods related to trafficking, encouraging them to stay vigilant and promote child-led awareness in their communities.


Strengthening SHG Leadership and Awareness

On 12 July, ARUWYE organized meetings for Women Self-Help Group leaders to strengthen their understanding of legal rights, advocacy, and government welfare schemes.

The sessions also covered savings and loan management, helping leaders guide their groups towards financial stability and informed decision-making.


Inauguration of Evening Study Centres

On 14 July, ARUWYE inaugurated new Evening Study Centres in Old KM Garden and Aaduthotti to support the educational needs of marginalized children.

These centres provide a safe and structured learning environment, helping students improve their academic performance and develop essential life skills for the future.


Malala Day Celebration

On 12 July, ARUWYE celebrated Malala Day across study centres in nine districts. Children shared the inspiring story of Malala Yousafzai, created portraits, and performed role plays based on her life.

The activities encouraged children to value education, develop courage, and pursue their dreams with determination.


Kamarajar Day Celebration

On 15 July, study centres celebrated Kamarajar Day, honoring the life and legacy of Kalvi Thanthai K. Kamaraj.

Children participated in speeches and discussions about time management, dedication to education, and overcoming struggles, drawing inspiration from the leader’s commitment to educational development.


Certification Ceremony – World Youth Skills Day

On 12 July, ARUWYE celebrated the Certification Ceremony of the first batch of QUEST trainees, marking an important milestone. Alumni returned to share their success stories, inspiring the new batch of students to aim higher.

The event also commemorated World Youth Skills Day, featuring a special Memory Skills session by Mr. Rex Mohan, HR Professional, who introduced practical techniques to improve learning and professional performance.


Empowering Women Towards Entrepreneurship

On 12 July, ARUWYE organized an online entrepreneurship session led by Mr. Jyothish, Operations Manager from Tata Group.

The session guided women on starting small businesses and generating income. Coordinated by Mrs. Mary, Women Coordinator, the program included 13 participants and encouraged women to pursue economic independence and self-reliance.


Job Fair Mela 2025 – Aspiring Youth

On 19 July 2025, ARUWYE organized a Job Fair in Kodambakkam, bringing together eight reputed companies to recruit young job seekers.

The event created opportunities for direct interaction between employers and skilled candidates, helping participants gain employment opportunities, confidence, and clearer career pathways.


Celebration of Rev. Sr. D.J. Margaret’s Birthday

On 19 July, ARUWYE joyfully celebrated the birthday of Rev. Sr. D.J. Margaret, Provincial of Chennai Province.

The celebration brought together the Director, staff members, women’s groups, and youth groups, reflecting the strong spirit of community and gratitude within the ARUWYE family.
